Encaustic Paint, to touch it is to Love it

Normally the idea of touching a painting is a HUGE NO NO. I wanted these children to touch and know the beauty of wax. They haven't seen a painting made with wax yet, but they have polished and felt it's wonderfully raised, smooth and shiny surface.

Normally it is not acceptable to touch the face of paintings, however encaustic also known as bees wax paintings cannot be harmed as a result of handling. As a matter of fact, wax paintings are very tactile. The thicker the layers of wax, the more delightful to slide one’s fingers over their surface, mmm, smooth, rich and delightful.
